"הישראלי היפה" הוא ארכיטיפ דואלי בהקשר לאופי הישראלי. מחד, יש את הישראלי "היפה": מתנדב, משרת בצבא, מגייס תרומות, מסייע לנכים ואביונים, ממציא פטנטים וטכנולוגיות, משפר מציאות בישראל ובעולם, זוכה בפרסים, במדע ובאמנות. מנגד, הישראלי "המכוער": גונב, מרמה, בוגד, אלים, מטנף, מזלזל, מקטין, קולני ובכללי - בלתי.

בתערוכה הזו, לקראת תקופת הבחירות עמוסת המסרים הדכאניים, בחרנו להתמקד דווקא בישראלי היפה, שכן עם פרוץ מלחמת טבח אוקטובר קרסה המדינה לחלוטין, והאזרחים נותרו לבדם להסתדר, וזו הייתה שעתו היפה של הישראלי היפה, כי אז נחשפנו לרוחו הכבירה שמתעלה לגודל השעה. הזמנו את האמניות והאמנים להציג בתערוכה יצירות העוסקות בתפישה שלהם לישראלי "היפה", ואם להתמקד בפריזמה שלנו - כיצד הוא מתבטא לדעתם ספציפית בקרב קהילת הגייז ובאמנות הגוף הגברי בישראל. בתערוכה יצירות צילום, ציור, פיסול, רישום, מדיה מעורבת ובמהלכה מוצגים בגלריה פריטים של אמנים גאים נוספים מישראל ומרחבי העולם, דוגמת איתן אראל המנוח, חואן בוילרו הקובני, PORNOBUNNY האיטלקי, רויה אברהים האיראנית ועוד.

"The Pretty Israeli" is a dual archetype within the context of the Israeli character. On the one hand, there is the "pretty" Israeli: volunteering, serving in the military, raising donations, assisting the disabled and needy, inventing patents and technologies, improving reality in Israel and worldwide, and winning awards in science and art. On the other hand, the "ugly" Israeli: stealing, cheating, betraying, violent, littering, disrespectful, belittling, loud, and generally intolerable.

In this exhibition, leading up to the election season with its heavy, oppressive messaging, we chose to focus specifically on the pretty Israeli. Following the outbreak of the October massacre war, the state suffered a total collapse, leaving citizens to fend for themselves. This became the finest hour of the pretty Israeli, as we were exposed to a magnificent spirit that rose to meet the moment. We invited artists to present works reflecting their perception of the "pretty" Israeli—and through our specific prism, how it manifests within the gay community and in male body art in Israel.

The exhibition features photography, painting, sculpture, drawing, and mixed media. Throughout its run, items by additional gay artists from Israel and around the world will also be on display, including the late Eitan Erel, Juan Boylero (Cuba), PORNOBUNNY (Italy), Roya Ebrahim (Iran), and others.

Entry is free with a recommended donation of 50 NIS.
