Eitan Erell Male Art
Eitan Erell is a jewelry designer, educated in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is 83 years young, and produced gay and male art for more than 50 years. His male figure sketches in charcoal and pastel drawings were presented briefly in a gallery in Israel in the 90's, but were then swiftly taken down due to their racy and titillating nature, showing fully aroused male genitalia, and homosexual intimacy and nude men.
In his words:
"The use of white substance - charcoal:
In my human male naked drawings, in more than a few cases, the use of white color is intended to enlarge, to deepen and to emphasize, the erotic spell of the subject; but far higher and beyond, is the concept of wholeness.
God almighty, our creator, has created the human male body and spirit in his image
"ויברא אלוהים את האדם בצלמו בצלם אלוהים ברא אתו" -- בראשית א', כ"ז
"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them;" -- Genesis 1, 27
In my creative perception, by using the white substance which contains the entire spectrum, I try a new way to embody the human male body and spirit, as full of joy, life-power and energy. In my perception, these qualities are with-in humans, and are projected outwards, to their surrounding.
